- CDBurnerXP Pro
- Don't let the name fool you, CDBurner works in all versions of Windows. The program can write to CD-R and CD-RW discs, write discs directly from an ISO image file, save an image as an ISO image file (*.iso) and erase CD-RW discs. Other features include support for all major buffer protection technologies such as Just Link, Burn Proof, and PowrBurn, works with most IDE, SCSI, USB 1.0/2.0, and 1394 Fire wire CD/CD-RW drives, writes ISO images for raw writing by other applications, can import ISO images from other applications, import multi-session data tracks. It also supports creation of multi-session disks.
- Virtual Drive Creator
- This allows you to use a single (available) drive letter to specify a path which could be any number of folders deep, e.g. c:\folder1\folder2\folder 3....\foldern (it's been tested to 10 levels). For CD-ROM users just copy the contents of a CD to a folder on you hard drive, create a virtual drive pointing to that folder, install the CD using the virtual drive letter, and like magic you can run the CD from your hard drive.
- ZipGenius
- ZipGenius is a compression/decompression program similar to WinZip. It has support for TWAIN devices (scanners and digital cameras), file extraction to CD-R writer, a FTP client (FTPGenius) and more. A nice feature is the ability to encrypt the archive history file. The most recently used files list can be enabled (always or per session) or disabled, and CryptoZip 2.1 gives better encryption algorhythms to lock your archives. There are also self-locking/self-erasing archives and you can choose to encrypt files with one among four algorhythms (CZIP, Blowfish, Twofish, Rijndael AES). Plus, CZIP files don't depend anymore from ZipGenius because you can create an executable CZIP (.EXE) file which will allow you to send your encrypted archives to people don't use ZipGenius 5.
- Open Office
- OpenOffice is both an Open Source product and a project. The product is a multi-platform office productivity suite. It includes the key desktop applications, such as a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation manager, and drawing program, with a user interface and feature set similar to other office suites. Sophisticated and flexible, OpenOffice.org also works transparently with a variety of file formats, including those of Microsoft Office.
- KNOPPIX
- KNOPPIX is a bootable CD with a collection of GNU/Linux software, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals. KNOPPIX can be used as a Linux demo, educational CD, rescue system, or adapted and used as a platform for commercial software product demos. It is not necessary to install anything on a hard disk. Due to on-the-fly decompression, the CD can have up to 2 GB of executable software installed on it.

- DupDetector
- This is a really awesome program. Search a single directory or compare two directories for duplicate images. It searches for duplicates by analyzing image pixel data. I have a large amount of wallpaper (about 800 pictures) and it searched through and found duplicates I thought I had deleted. A great program!
- MyPrivacy
- This is a tool that helps you maintain your privacy by cleaning up all traces of your internet and PC activities. It will erase data you may have entered like personal information in online forms, URLs in your browser address bar, files you searched for, etc. Data that otherwise would be exposed to other users of your computer. It also helps you clear the files from both the Temp and the Temporary Internet Explorer folders.
- Atory Password Generator
- Sometimes it is difficult to think of good passwords -- the type that wouldn't be easy for others to figure out. Using your name, the name of a pet, an anniversary date, etc. are not good choices. By using the Atory Password Generator you can specify how many characters your password should be and which types of characters to include. The program then generates a random password using the parameters you specify.
- SlimBrowser
- SlimBrowser is a multiple-site browser based on tab-page interface. It incorporates a large collection of wonderful features like recoverable popup killer, form filler, site group, quick-search, auto login, hidden sites, built-in commands and scripting, online translation, script error suppression, blacklist/whitelist filtering.
- the Partition Resizer
- This program will resize and move partitions without data loss. This version is now more complete, with support for disks up to 2TB in size. It is a small DOS executable, which requires no installation.
- EasyCleaner
- EasyCleaner is a small program which searches your computer's registry for entries that are pointing nowhere. Deleting these entries will speed up your computer.
- Print Directory
- Use this program to print the contents of selected directories, sub-directories, and their contents. Choose from 16 different formatting options. The program gives you the ability to print the listing or save the listing as a tab or comma delimited file so that it can be opened by Excel.
- JPG Cleaner
- This simple but powerful utility cleans JPG files. It will remove anything that is not picture data. Commonly used programs such as Adobe Photoshop write additional information into JPG files that isn't needed for correctly displaying the picture.
- Easy Thumbnails
- Create accurate thumbnail images and scaled-down/up copies from a wide range of popular picture formats. Select images for processing individually, in groups, or in whole folders. Adjust their contrast, brightness, sharpness and quality, and see the results with a convenient built-in viewer.
- Desk Sweeper
- Hide all the icons on your desktop, including Recycle Bin, My Computer, Network Neighbourhood, etc. DeskSweeper is always visible in the system tray for easy access. A single mouseclick is all you need to hide or view your desktop icons.
- EMS Free Surfer
- This is a must-have program for web surfers. EMS Free Surfer is an intelligent popup stopper, cache cleaner and surfing companion which works with Internet Explorer. Free Surfer does not use white lists or block lists, just start it and surf in peace. There is no return to 'old style' popup stoppers after trying Free Surfer. This is another program which ranks very high on my list of freeware favorites.
- SpyBot Search and Destroy
- SpyBot scours your hard drive for small files which are responsible for the ads many programs display. Many of these files also transmit information, including your surfing behavior on the internet. SpyBot finds these files and then safely removes them from your system. It can also remove usage tracks which is a list of recently visited websites, opened files, started programs and internet cookies.
- LeechGet
- LeechGet is my new favorite download manager. It is similar to Download Accelerator, Star Downloader, GoZilla and the rest. You can schedule downloads, pause and/or resume aborted downloads, and set it to automatically disconnect from the internet and shut down your computer when the files have finished transferring.
- AudioCrusher
- AudioCrusher is a program which allows you to extract digital audio from audio CDs and save the data in various sound formats such as MP3 and WAV for example. The audio is extracted digitally without any loss of quality. AudioCrusher supports on the fly normalization and a wide range of sound formats such as RAW Audio, WAV, MP3 via LameEnc, BladeEnc or the Frauenhofer Codec, Ogg Vorbis and WMA. AudioCrusher can also retrieve information on audio CDs through the freedb database.
- Picture Shark
- This easy-to-use program allows the user to place watermarks on image files. Some of Picture Shark's features include: a wizard-like interface, ability to choose the transparency color, opacity and position of the watermark, a 'feather' feature to make the edges of the mark blend smoothly into the image, WYSIWYG preview-mode, and several more.
- VicMan's Photo Editor
- Don't pay hundreds of dollars for an image editing program, just download VicMan's Photo Editor. With this free image editor you will be able to refine your digital photos, draw artwork, and create images for a web site. The program also has a skinnable interface so you can change it's look to something other than the default view.
- RoboForm
- If you do a lot of on-line purchasing or visit web sites which require you to log in, then RoboForm is for you. RoboForm is a one-click web form filler and password manager. You no longer need to remember all the various login names and passwords for various sites. Here are some of RoboForm's features: it memorizes online passwords, automatically logs you into a web site, generates random secure passwords, fills long registration forms from personal profiles, encrypts password-protected info using 3DES, allows easy backup and restore of passwords.
- Convert
- Convert is an easy to use conversion program. It will convert the most popular units of distance, temperature, volume, time, speed, mass, power, density, pressure, energy and other units. It even allows the user to create custom conversions!
- MP3 Gain
- This is a program which many MP3 users will appreciate. How many times have you had to adjust the volume when a new MP3 file begins playing because the volume is either higher or lower than the previous song? MP3 Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so they have the same volume. MP3Gain does statistical analysis on the files to determine how loud the file actually sounds to the human ear.
- Speed Worker
- If this doesn't save you time it will at least score big on the 'WOW' factor. This program allows the user to assign a series of mouse movements to whatever file the user chooses. Then, to launch a particular program, the user just repeats the chosen mouse movements pattern and the program is launched.
- Medusa
- The developer describes Medusa as a crossover between a search engine and an offline explorer. It allows you to search for music, images, movies, programs and any other kind of file. Simply supply Medusa with a URL to start at. The program then follows all the links on that site to new pages and then lists the files it found for you.
- WCPUID
- WCPUID is a simple program which displays the CPU information of your computer. It will show information about the frequency, multiplier, chipset and other info.
